Only you decide how to control your robots. You can play back standard movements, teach the robot manually, make use of the remote control through the Tinkerbots app or even get into Arduino and program the robot yourself.
Assemble the robot and get started
Each motion module already knows a pre-defined movement like grabbing, panning or twisting. Connect it to the Powerbrain, turn it on and press Play.
Start the powerbrain by pressing the play button...
Press play again and your robot starts moving
With (+) and (– ) you control the speed it’s as simple as that!
Record and replay movements (Teach)
You have just built a robot-dog and now want to teach it something? No worries, the Twister and Pivot modules are able to learn new movements.
Build a robot and press the record button on the Powerbrain
Move the modules the way you want them to move later on
Press Play and the modules will repeat the movements they just learned
Controlling your robot remotely with your smartphone or tablet? Of course, it’s possible! Download our Tinkerbots App (iOS/Andoid) and make your robots move while relaxing on the couch.
Open the app and follow the instructions
Select the robot model you wish to control
Use the slide controls to move your robot
Your robots know how to identify obstacles and light sources with their infrared (IR) distance sensor and the light sensor. Here is how you use them:
Connect one or more sensors to your robot
Link the sensors to the motion modules through the app
Now your robot reacts to the signals it gets from the sensors
Programming in Arduino
Do you want to program your robots yourself? Of course! The microcontroller inside the Powerbrain is compatible with Arduino so that you can program the models yourself in C. More info can be found here
